Foyle College is a co-educational, Voluntary Grammar School which has been providing high quality education for the City of Londonderry and its surrounding area for almost 400 years.
Until December 2017, Foyle College was a split-site school. The two campuses were at Springtown, Northland Road (which housed the junior school – ages 11-14) and Duncreggan (housing the senior school – ages 14-18). As a grammar school it admits pupils based on academic selection.
The new school, located on the Limavady Road, can now house all student at all ages. It has been designed and equipped with the latest in technology. Enabling the students to grow academically, athletically and artistically.
Our role within this project was to provide the students and staff with a comfortable working environment which would assist them in developing to their full potential.
Foyle College had a very clear vision on what they wanted to achieve. Our team at Dawson Hinds Creative Spaces engaged with key personnel and produced drawings of space planning and interior design. As well as installation of furniture for all classrooms, canteen area, Agora, staff-room and offices.
As you can see, the final design created a magnificent space with a focus on exceptional products and collaborations for all. This was done without losing the character and life of the College.
